Time is Flying

Oh my goodness! Where does the time go? Driving into work this morning I realized that it is only a week before Christmas. It seems like Thanksgiving was just last week. I think (hope) that I am done shopping except for stocking stuffers. Still have to clean the house good since John's folks will be here on Sunday.

Cami is now 5 months old and growing every day. She is now turning over from her back to her stomach (her preferred position), laughing versus giggling and holding her bottle for short periods of time. She is doing the "swim", so I don't think it will be long before she starts crawling. I glanced around the living room the other day and decided that I would have to start thinking about what needed to be child-proofed.

I don't know how Paula does it with five kids. I took care of Cami on Saturday since Sara had to work and I had appointments and errands that I needed to take care of. I guess I forgot how much extra effort it is to have a baby with you when you do those things. I didn't get everything done because of the extra time spent feeding her, changing her diaper and just getting her in and out of the car. Hmmm - wonder if part of that is just me getting older. :) Oh well, it was fun for both of us and we had good naps that afternoon.

Yep, as we get "older", we forget how much "fun" it is to have little ones to care for as we go about our daily tasks. Most grandparents can just "give them back" when it's too much. :-) It is good to have babies when you are "young".

My secret: I NEVER TAKE THE KIDS OUT WITH ME!!! If I HAVE to get something I make sure I make a beeline for it and then I'm out of there! And oh yeah, drive thrus are my best friend!! Starbucks, the bank, self-service kiosk at the post office...whatever makes it so I don't actually have to get the kids OUT of the car! I always make their appointments for the same time and Bart's parents come with me to help out!! And my #1 rule: NEVER TAKE THEM GROCERY SHOPPING!!! I seriously will go at 10 p.m. when Bart is home just so I don't have to take them with me.

She learned everything she knows from me! I got a little taste of having to haul them all over when we had Tori and Logan last February for two weeks. It was great but boy does it change your lifestyle! And I agree with Dad, it is good to have kids when you are young because you are young when you become grandparents and can have a ball with them! Aren't they fun!?

Well, I do have to get the pictures developed first. We did get a digital camera for Xmas, so pictures will be getting posted sooner (hopefully).

Hey! Thanks for the comment! Yes..had to join the "Blog" World...keeps me informed of family and friends. Very cute grand daughter. And yes..it is fun being a grandparent for many reasons. Between Tim (my husband) and myself we have 15 grdkids. And Angela is expecting another baby in June. This will be her forth baby. WOW! Hope to see her and family this spring sometime.

Maybe today. Depends on how much I need to help mom. No school! We are having an ice day. The back roads are so icy from the melting and rain from yesterday. Of course we may have a snow day tomorrow since we are under a winter storm warning from 7 tonight to 11 tomorrow morning. We'll see! Had over a foot of snow on the ground and it is almost gone. Can see bare spots on the ground.
