I just had to put this one on the blog! It really made me laugh.
Dad at the mall:
I took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes (he is 92). We decided to grab a bite at the food court. I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him. The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors: green, red, orange, and blue. My dad kept staring at him. The teenager would look and find him staring every time. When the teenager had had enough, he sarcastically asked, 'What's the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?' Knowing my Dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not choke on his response, knowing he would have a good one, and in classic style he did not bat an eye in his response. 'Got drunk once, and had sex with a peacock. I was just wondering if you were my son.'
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Just An Update
Okay, so there isn't much new happening in the Whitehead household. Cami continues to grow - she is saying a ton of words and the doctor has proclaimed that she is 'advanced'. By advanced, she means that Cami's motor and vocal skills are closer to a 3-year olds than an eighteen month old. It is a little creepy sometimes how she looks so intently at you when you are talking to her. It really is like she is absorbing the words. She also continues to be as, or more, strong willed than her mother. Of course, it doesn't help that Poppi (John) spoils her rotten. I continuely remind him to be careful with that since she is living with us and we have to put up with the brattiness (is that a word?). All in all, we love having her and Sara still at the house. It will be difficult for both of us (John especially) when Sara is able to move out and live on her own.
For those that didn't know, John has been unemployed since the middle of December. Luckily he does qualify for unemployment and that has been a help. The good news is that he received a preliminary job offer on Friday. He hopes to be going in later this week for final interview(s) then background and drug checks. We are hoping he will start within the next couple of weeks. I say "we" because he is driving us all crazy! :)
That is all the news for us right now. Love to everyone!
